VetChip is a West Australian biotechnology company dedicated to improving animal health and welfare through pioneering technology, proactive health monitoring systems, data analytics, and disease detection. Founded in 2019 by a team of highly experienced veterinarians and engineers, VetChip was created to provide animal owners and vets with an efficient and effective way to detect abnormal health parameters in animals who cannot tell us when they are unwell.
How VetChip works with ezyVet
VetChip is an animal health monitoring ecosystem based around an implantable smart microchip. The VetChip mobile application is able to connect and link an animal in the ezyVet patient list to the VetChip implant that is implanted into the animal. This implant allows for continuous monitoring of an animal’s health and the biometric indicator readings are wirelessly transmitted via a smart device to the cloud. VetChip’s ecosystem integrates seamlessly with ezyVet by automatically uploading readings to the animal’s clinical health record in ezyVet’s database when the mobile application is within range of the implant.
